Seachem Phosguard 1000ml - 187 is an effective solution for rapidly removing phosphate and silicate from aquaria, be it marine or freshwater. Designed with a unique spherical shape, this phosphate remover ensures optimal water flow through its high-capacity, porous media. Unlike granular removers that risk compacting and reducing efficacy, Phosguard's shape maintains its ability to contact water efficiently, thereby enhancing its removal potential.

While there have been conversations regarding potential aluminium release, extensive testing indicates that under standard reef conditions (pH near 8), there is no detectable soluble aluminium. Even in environments with pH as low as 5.3 with triple the recommended dosage, soluble aluminium registers minimally, demonstrating the product’s safety for aquatic life, including sensitive soft-bodied corals.

Phosguard does not desorb phosphates or silicates back into the water. Continuous, minimal usage maximises its performance compared to larger doses sporadically. It may generate heat on initial contact with water, thus, pre-wetting is advised.
