Propolis Wound Sealant for Koi

Propolis is a natural product derived from bees, commonly known as “nature’s antibiotic” due to its powerful antimicrobial properties. It is an excellent treatment for sealing wounds, ulcers, damaged fins, and Hikui (a skin disease affecting the red pigment in koi). When applied, Propolis creates a waterproof, waxy barrier that helps to protect the wound from pathogens and debris, promoting faster healing.

Application Instructions:

• Optional Sedation: If necessary, sedate the fish using Koi Calm before treatment.
• Dry the Wound: Carefully dry the wound area as much as possible.
• Apply Propolis: Spread Propolis directly onto the wound.
• Forming the Seal: Slowly lower the fish back into the water. As soon as Propolis contacts water, it forms a durable, waxy seal over the wound.
• Precaution: Avoid contact with the fish’s gills and eyes to ensure their safety.

Feeding Instructions:

Propolis can also be used as an antibacterial supplement for your koi. Simply add a few drops of Propolis to fish pellets in a plastic bag, shake well to coat the pellets evenly, and add more Propolis if necessary. This not only helps in healing but also boosts the overall health of your fish.
