Acting as both a biological filter media and a bacterial food source, Nutri-Fix NP supports the growth of beneficial bacteria specifically targeted at nutrient removal—without the risks associated with liquid carbon dosing methods such as vodka.

Unlike carbon dosing that spreads bacteria throughout the display tank, Nutri-Fix NP is used within a fluidised reactor, where it creates a controlled, oxygen-rich environment ideal for rapid bacterial colonisation. These bacteria consume nitrate and phosphate as they grow, locking them into a biomass that can be physically removed via a protein skimmer. As the media is agitated within the reactor, older bacterial layers are shed, allowing for fresh colonisation and consistent nutrient export.
